Quick Answer

What Do Regional Vocational Directors Do?

Regional vocational directors are the link between Olive Grove, students, parents, and participating businesses. They work in the field, not the office.

Business Recruitment

Directors reach out to local businesses, explain the program, and encourage them to participate.

Business Support

Directors help businesses understand what the program requires. This includes documentation, child labor compliance questions, and general expectations.

Training Plan Review

Directors review Olive Grove's Training and Safety Plan with each business and help them make any adjustments needed for their specific workplace.

Student Placement

When a student or family asks for help finding a job, the director helps connect them with participating businesses.

Monthly Data Collection

Each month, directors collect student progress reports and bi-weekly log sheets from businesses.

Database Entry

If a business does not enter their own data, the director enters monthly reports into the Olive Grove central database.

Business Visits

Directors visit each participating business at least two times per year to check in and make sure everything is on track.

Communication

Directors stay in regular contact with students, parents, and businesses throughout the program year.

Documentation Compliance

Directors make sure all Training Agreements, mandated reporter confirmations, and required paperwork are signed and on file.

Reporting to Administration

Directors provide regular reports to Olive Grove Administration about participation, trends, and any issues that need board attention.
